Perry Ellis by Duckie Brown SS13 Campaign

With fashion’s time machine set on AW13, it’s been all about winter recently, both in terms of the view out of the window and what we’re aspiring to wear in a year’s time. So it’s been too easy to forget that we’ve yet to experience Spring/Summer 13. I’m now looking forward to putting to the test some of my predictions and advanced purchases as the days gradually get longer.

One of the collections I was most excited about last season was the Perry Ellis brand, as revitalised by Duckie Brown. The Duckies turned standard American khaki on its head, sending an army of boys down the runway in various shades of the colour: blue, gray and pink. With models wearing identical hats; part riding hat, part baseball cap, this was sportswear a la Duckie Brown, brimming with their trademark dry humour.

The just-launched campaign for the collection is a welcome reminder of summer days to come, and an insight into the Duckies refined vision, as interpreted through stylist and collaborator Grant Woolhead.

I’m looking forward to seeing the collaboration in US stores during my next visits, with accessories like the tortoiseshell sunnies and the bi-colour bomber jacket (look out for it in the vid below) on my radar.
